Take Me Along - Chapter 50 Joe's POV "Hi, baby," I hear Demi's voice and I turn around. "Hey," I smile, leaning down for a kiss. Demi turns to the front desk and picks up a pen and starts looking over the papers. Marie pulled on my t-shirt, keeping it gripped in her tiny hand. "Did they feed her?" Demi wonders. I nod. "They bottle-fed her. They say she might be more willing to try it now but you don't have to if you don't want to," I explain. Demi just shrugs and continues reading over the papers. She looked better than yesterday. She still seems a bit disoriented, however. Demi signs the papers next to my own name and hands them over to the receptionist. We wait for another minute or so then we're told we can leave. I hand Marie over to Demi and her face lights up. "I missed you," she coos, kissing Marie's soft hair. We walk across the parking lot to my car and Demi hands Marie back over to me. "I'm gonna go into work. If you need me, just call or come in or whatever," she shrugs. "I love you," I kiss her softly and she smiles. "I love you too," Demi says before giving Marie a kiss and turning to walk away to her car. I put Marie in her car seat and buckle her all up before getting in the driver seat and going home. Demi's POV After another long day at work, I'm glad to finally be pulling up into my driveway.
